ESN Alba Iulia

ESN Alba Iulia is a small section, but a great team. Although it is only a few years old, ESN Alba has gone through many challenges, each time succeeding. We started our activity in 2015 and put our hearts and souls in everything we do. Our primary mission is to provide an unforgettable experience for international students, to be their friend and support in a foreign country. It's a goal for us, to create a pleasant environment for incoming students, to make them feel like they have a second home and a place where they can return every time they want. Our team consists of young people who promote ESN values through our actions, events and ideas. We look forward to helping other students to integrate in our community and have a great time. We are #ESNalbaiulia!

ESN Cluj-Napoca was founded in 2004 as the first ESN section in Romania. The section started out of love and gratitude for the Erasmus experience. Everything is volunteer-based, which means that we successfully choose awesome people to be part of the ESN family every year. We organize events that promote the ESN values, the Erasmus + mobilities, and our city. In this way, we hope to enrich the Erasmus students’ experience and make ourselves a part of their mobility.

We started our activity in 2015, we currently have around 15-20 active volunteers. One of our main goals is to integrate in society the incoming students in our city through Erasmus mobilities. We are here to help them during their journey in Craiova. By creating events and workshops for the Erasmus students we can make them feel like they are part of us and help them develop new abilities and reach certain levels in their life, in order to have an unforgettable mobility in our city. We work in collaboration with University of Craiova, our main partner. Another goal is helping volunteers get to their maximum potential as   actively involved people in society, so as provide the society with great people to care about the future. We are doing this through workshops, support them with their struggles, participating in another NGO’s activities to encourage the volunteering area in the city to grow up and create endless bonds between volunteers. We like to think of about our community more like a family than a group of volunteers.

Because of the variety of the subjects and university departments Erasmus students are enrolled in, we collaborate with a considerable number of universities here in Iași, starting with “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Iași, University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Grigore T. Popa" Iași  and and “George Enescu” University of Arts.

ESN Iași looks after the physical and mental health of the Erasmus students, while it maintains a playful, yet mature attitude. This can be observed through the variety of events that are organized for the Erasmus students: cultural (where people can get to know the Romanian culture, while exchanging customs with international friends!), social events (parties, chill gatherings), trips etc.

ESN Poli was establish in 2018 in Bucharest. The main academic partner of the section is Politehnica University of Bucharest, one of the biggest higher educational institution in Romania. More than 60 volunteers are involved every year in the guidance and support of the Erasmus students that join Politehnica. Through a close multilateral collaboration between volunteers, Erasmus representatives and university members, ESN Poli represents the needs and expectations of exchange students on the local level.

In order to make the stay of our incomming students as pleasant as possible, we collaborate closly with the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu.

ESN Suceava is a voluntary non-profit organization, a subsidiary of the international organization Erasmus Student Network. It was founded in the pandemic year, September 20th, 2020, and most of the founders were participants in the Erasmus + program, who felt on their own skin the difficulty of being part of a foreign society when you don’t know anyone. In this way, ESN Suceava will be able to organize various events that would promote socialization between international and local students, creating unforgettable mobility, but also discover new cultures and possibilities. That’s why, ESN Suceava wants to make this task easier for Erasmus students who come to the “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava, creating a section of ESN here.

ESN UniBucharest is the oldest ESN section in Bucharest, having 10 years of activity already. We have organised the CND Bucharest 2018, the biggest international ESN event that has ever taken place in Romania and we are currently in collaboration with 12 universities in Bucharest and one based outside of the city. Also, one of our members, Sabina Achim, is part of the current International Board, this being her second mandate in a row as Communication Manager. Some funny facts about our section are that we love team-buildings and working alongside other sections, and our monkey mascot, Bucur, is slowly but surely invading ESN with his mini-Bucurs.
